The conference will take place at Hotel Kasprowy in Zakopane (about 100km south from Cracow) located outside the downtown, and featuring a beautiful view of the Tatra Mountains. The organizers have made a block reservation for the conference participants and the accompanying persons at Hotel Kasprowy. The conference starts on Monday, September 2, with the registration and dinner, and ends on Saturday, September 7, after morning sessions and lunch. The registration will be continued on Tuesday morning.

{short description of image} SCIENTIFIC PROGRAMTop

The program of the conference will include plenary-invited lectures (40 min), Sectional-invited lectures (30min) and contributed presentations in thematic sessions (20min). There will not be poster sessions in the usual sense; the short presentations of posters (~8-10min) will be combined with poster exposition in the conference hall during the day of presentation. The poster dimensions should not exceed 90cm in width and 120 cm in height. The preliminary conference program will be available on Conference Web Side starting from June 25, 2002. Note, however, that this program could be updated without prior notice. Standard equipment (overhead and slide projectors) will be available in each lecture room. Other equipment (like multimedia projector and video recorder) can be made available on prior request.

The registration fee for participants is US $320 and US $125 for accompanying person if paid before May 30, 2002 and $370 (or $145) if paid after that date. The fee for participants includes admittance to all sessions, book of abstracts, refreshments, welcome party, conference dinner, and lunches. The fee for accompanying persons includes refreshments, welcome party, conference dinner, folklore show and lunches. The registration starts on Monday, September 02, 2002 at 4 PM. at Hotel Kasprowy.

The conference participants will be lodged at Hotel Kasprowy in single or double rooms. The number of single rooms is limited. All meals will be served in the hotel restaurants. The hotel offers various sport facilities such as indoor swimming pool, tennis courts, mini-golf, etc. In order to benefit from special rates for the accommodation and meals the participants are requested to make reservation for the whole duration of the conference. For students and young researches the Organizing Committee has reserved a limited number of rooms in WDW Koscielisko in Zakopane. The total prices are specified in the attached Registration/ Accommodation Form.

Registration fee and payments for accommodation and meals should be made directly to the Mazurkas Travel Congress Bureau (address given below) according to the requirements given in your Registration /Accommodation Forms. Cancellation: The fee will be refunded in 80% less bank charges for cancelation received by Mazurkas Travel before June 30, 2002. No refunds can be made after June 30, 2002.

Mazurkas Travel Agency is an official travel agent for the 34-th Solid Mechanics Conference. Mazurkas Travel will arrange transportation from Warsaw and Cracow to Hotel Kasprowy in Zakopane, the social program for accompanying persons, as well as pre- and post-conference accommodation if requested. Mazurkas Travel will have a representative at the registration desk of Hotel Kasprowy for the duration of the conference.
